Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only American Fork walked away with it. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Farmington Phoenix on Wednesday. The win was nothing new for the Cavemen as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Bode Gaggero was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Talon Willardson and Bentley Taggart did most of the damage at the plate: Willardson went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI, while Taggart went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that Taggart has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jens Price, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

American Fork was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

American Fork's victory bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Farmington, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-18.

American Fork will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Phoenix: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
