Volleyball Recap: Gardena Comes Up Short

Gardena lost against Rancho Dominguez on April 2nd, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers fell 3-1 to the Lobos.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Rancho Dominguez scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 20-25, 25-21.

Gardena dropped their record down to 4-13 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Rancho Dominguez, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.

Gardena and Rancho Dominguez could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Panthers will challenge Carson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (895 vs. 282). Meanwhile, Rancho Dominguez (ranked 775th) will meet Banning (ranked 210th) at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
