Basketball Recap: Snook Takes a Loss

If Snook was riding high fresh off their 67-28 takedown of KOR Education School last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Snook Bluejays were beaten by the Hearne Eagles 70-33 on Friday. The Bluejays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-9.

Dereion Mitchell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hearne, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 18 boards. The game was Mitchell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zayden Mercer, who went 6 for 12 en route to 14 points and five assists.

The defeat snapped Snook's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-11 record. As for Hearne, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 21-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Iola the next time they take the court. Snook will host Iola at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Hearne will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
