Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Starts off Right with Win over Racine Case

St. Joseph had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Racine Case Eagles by a score of 13-9 on Tuesday. The Lancers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Nick Falk looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, St. Joseph let Peter Visconti and Dominic Santarelli run wild. Visconti scored four runs and stole six bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Santarelli scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs Santarelli has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zach Rizzo, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on New Berlin Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Racine Case, they will host Franklin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season.
