Joliet West took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Lockport a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Tigers have posted since April 15th.

Meanwhile, Romeoville suffered their closest defeat since April 11th on Thursday. They fell just short of Plainfield Central by a score of 6-4. Surprisingly, this marked the Spartans' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Joliet West's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-14. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Romeoville, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
