The Brewbaker Tech Rams will venture away from home to challenge the Saint James Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brewbaker Tech is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
On Thursday, Brewbaker Tech was able to grind out a solid win over Holtville, taking the game 5-2.
Kyra Wallace spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Heleyna Pennic, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ericianna Ellis, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Saint James got the win against Trinity Presbyterian on Thursday by a conclusive 10-1. Considering the Trojans have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Emily Needham made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Sydney Johnston was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Lily Stanford, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Saint James was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Brewbaker Tech's record is now 13-6. As for Saint James, their record now sits at 24-4-1.
Brewbaker Tech beat Saint James 10-6 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
