Baseball Recap: Shippensburg Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

In Wednesday's Canine Competition, Shippensburg came out on top. They took their match against the Big Spring Bulldogs on Wednesday 7-4. This was a revenge game for the Greyhounds: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on April 1st, they had to take a 7-4 loss.

Shippensburg pushed their record up to 5-8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Big Spring, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Shippensburg and Big Spring could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Greyhounds will square off against Lower Dauphin at 4:15 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (315 vs. 123). Meanwhile, Big Spring (ranked 253rd) will meet East Pennsboro (ranked 11th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
