Softball Recap: Murray Wins Going Away Against Park City

Murray won the last time they faced Park City and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Miners. Considering the Spartans have won three matchups by more than 14 runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Murray got a massive performance out of Savana Whitlock, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Whitlock a new career-high. Eden McBride also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Murray always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .512 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Murray's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Park City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Park City will face off against Stansbury at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Murray will be paying especially close attention to the Miners' matchup: after the Miners faces off against the Stallions, they'll take on Murray again at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
