Softball Recap: Clare's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to 18

Clare had already won 17 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it 18 on Saturday. They blew past the Greenville Yellow Jackets 17-3. Considering the Pioneers have won 23 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Clare's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Greenville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-13.

Looking ahead, Clare will venture away from home to square off against Standish-Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Greenville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Belding at 3:00 p.m. on the 27th.
