Basketball Game Preview: Hibriten Panthers vs. South Caldwell Spartans

The Hibriten Panthers are taking a road trip to square off against the South Caldwell Spartans at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hibriten took on Foard on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 47-25 victory. The score was close at halftime, but the Panthers pulled away in the second half with 33 points.

Meanwhile, South Caldwell didn't have too much trouble with West Wilkes on Tuesday as they won 49-30. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

South Caldwell found their leader in sophomore Maggie Wilks, who posted 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Wilks. Holland Weisner was another key player, putting up nine points.

South Caldwell's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hibriten, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Hibriten and South Caldwell were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February, but Hibriten came up empty-handed after a 62-61 loss. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
