Recap: Sanderson Spartans vs. Durham Academy Cavaliers        
        
		
            
 The Sanderson Spartans waltzed into their game  Friday with two straight wins  but they left with three. They strolled past Durham Academy with  points to spare, taking the game  59-40. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest  win Sanderson has managed all season.
 It was another big night for  Nathan Fife, who  scored 22 points along with seven  assists and five  rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which  he has scored at least 25% of Sanderson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Patrick Dalton, who  scored 11 points.
 When it comes to explaining why Durham Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is  JJ Wilcox. Despite the final result, he  scored 11 points along with five  rebounds. Wilcox scored a full 27.5% of Durham Academy's points, the third time in a row he's  earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was  Quin Frasher, who  scored eight points.
 Sanderson's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Durham Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
 Sanderson won't have much time to rest: their next  match is against South Granville at 8:30  p.m.  on December 30, 2023. South Granville will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive. Durham Academy won't have much time to rest: their next  matchup is against Riverside-Durham at 5:30  p.m.  on December 30, 2023. Hopefully Riverside-Durham focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
