Volleyball Recap: North Mustangs vs. McClintock Chargers
If North was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Fairfax last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McClintock Chargers on Monday. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Chargers 25-21 in the first set.
North started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-10, 25-18, 25-15.
Jerome Buckner paced North's offense, picking up 11 kills. Buckner got some help from Leonel Ortiz and his 13 assists. Finally, Buckner was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.
North now has a losing record of 7-8. As for McClintock, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North will welcome Alhambra at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McClintock, they will be playing at home against Arizona College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
