Football Recap: Arcanum Trojans vs. Preble Shawnee Arrows
After flying high against Bradford last Friday, Arcanum came back down to earth. The Trojans had to suffer through a 49-13 loss at the hands of the Preble Shawnee Arrows. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Arrows: they've now lost five in a row.
Preble Shawnee's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brody Morton, who rushed for 56 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. What's more, Morton racked up 165.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Preble Shawnee also got a significant boost from Ethan Mauller, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 122 yards.
Having lost for the first time this season, Arcanum fell to 4-1. As for Preble Shawnee, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Looking ahead, Arcanum will welcome National Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Preble Shawnee, they will square off against Bradford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
