Yates (Houston), in a nationally-televised showdown Thursday at 8 p.m. at Texas Southern University.

Basketball Tournament (Friday, Saturday, Monday): The 71st annual
Houston ISD tournament will feature some of the area's top teams,
including Yates,
Wheatley (Houston),
Jones (Houston),
Westbury Christian (Houston) and
Second Baptist (Houston).
The championship game is at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
TOP PERFORMERS* Michael Harmon, Morton Ranch (Katy): In an 83-69 win over Fort Bend Travis, the
senior guard scored a game-high 38 points. Travis was ranked second in
the state at the time of the meeting.
* D'angelo Harrison, Fort Bend Dulles:
In the Outback Tournament, the senior guard and St. John's signee
averaged 35 points in six games, including scoring 46 in a 69-60 win
over Willowridge.
