Basketball Recap: Freeport Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Freeport had won two straight home games and Jasmine Miles did her part to make it three on Friday. The Freeport Bulldogs claimed a resounding 70-42 win over the Wicksburg Panthers thanks in part to Miles, who went 11 of 19 on her way to 24 points along with eight boards and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Freeport's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Ludwig, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points. Those 14 points gave her a new career-high.

Freeport's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Wicksburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeport and Magnolia Heights will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Wicksburg, they will face off against Dale County at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
