Baseball Recap: Brunswick Finds Playoff Glory Versus Findlay

It's playoff time, and Brunswick had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 13-8 win over the Findlay Trojans on Wednesday. 13 seems to be a good number for the Blue Devils as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Zachary Callahan made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Alex Hubbell was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Poindexter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

Brunswick has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Findlay, with the loss, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-7.

Brunswick does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Findlay, they will head out to take on Northview at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
