Volleyball Recap: Valley Christian Extends Winning Streak to Six

Valley Christian waltzed into their match on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Coolidge Bears as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Valley Christian was: they took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-15, 25-11.

Sadie Wahlin paced Valley Christian's offense, picking up 12 kills. Wahlin got some help from Ansley Venkatesh and her 24 assists. Venkatesh was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 28-10. As for Coolidge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Valley Christian will square off against rival Apache Junction at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Coolidge is set to take on their familiar foe Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
