Baseball Recap: Shadow Ridge Takes a Loss

Shadow Ridge extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 10-9 heartbreaker at the hands of the Liberty Patriots. On the bright side, the nine- run effort marked the Mustangs' highest-scoring game to date.

Shadow Ridge got a massive performance out of Marco Montesanti, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Montesanti has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Noble, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

As for Liberty, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 15, 2025.

On Liberty's side, they let Shawn Mack and Casey Arkerson run wild. Mack went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Arkerson went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those two hits gave Mack a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nevan Chandler, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Liberty has already played their next matchup (against Centennial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Shadow Ridge will be paying especially close attention to the Patriots' contest: after the Patriots face off against the Bulldogs, they'll take on Shadow Ridge again at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
