Baseball Recap: Foothill's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Foothill unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 6-1 to the El Dorado Golden Hawks. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Hawks earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Foothill got a good showing from Grady Wright, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Wright has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Foothill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Green, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for El Dorado, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Foothill will face off against Cypress at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 2, the Centurions 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for El Dorado, they will welcome Crean Lutheran at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
