Volleyball Recap: Toll Gate Takes a Loss

Toll Gate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Portsmouth Patriots. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Patriots when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Toll Gate was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-23, 25-16.

Toll Gate's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Portsmouth, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Toll Gate will face off against Tolman at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Titans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Portsmouth, they will challenge Block Island at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
