Basketball Game Preview: Pittsville Panthers vs. Wild Rose Wildcats

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Pittsville Panthers face off against the Wild Rose Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday... Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Pittsville humbled Port Edwards with a 50-4 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Wild Rose had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They took down the Eagles 69-54.

Wild Rose has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Pittsville, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Everything came up roses for Pittsville against Wild Rose when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 65-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pittsville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
