Softball Game Preview: Monticello Panthers vs. Washingtonville Wizards

Monticello is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Washingtonville a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Monticello Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Washingtonville Wizards at 4:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Monticello's offense. They lost 13-0 to Valley Central on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Washingtonville came up short against Minisink Valley on Wednesday, falling 23-1.

Washingtonville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Monticello, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Monticello came out on top in a nail-biter against Washingtonville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Wizards have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
