Asheboro dropped their record down to 9-16 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Oak Grove Grizzlies, falling 7-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Blue Comets haven't been shut out since back in March.

Asheboro saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Luck, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Oak Grove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

On Oak Grove's side, Carson Everhart was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. Everhart has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other pitching news, Mason Crouse looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Graham Binkley was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cam Sharpe, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Asheboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oak Grove, they will venture away from home to face off against Central Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Spartans have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
