The American Heritage Academy Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 88-53 loss at the hands of Awaken Christian. American Heritage Academy lost against Awaken Christian in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-48 score last time.

Leading Awaken Christian to victory were Jadon Kenney and Gavin Kepler. Kenney scored 31 points along with five rebounds, while Kepler scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kepler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Billy Kepler, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.

American Heritage Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Awaken Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Heritage Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Round Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Round Mountain focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten last Tuesday. As for Awaken Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Mead Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lake Mead Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.
