Basketball Recap: Lawrence County Comes Up Short

Lawrence County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 77-75 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pike County Central Hawks. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (69), the Bulldogs still had to take the loss.

Lawrence County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Pike County Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence County will take on Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pike County Central, they are taking a road trip to square off against Phelps at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
