Soccer Recap: Antietam Takes a Loss

Antietam was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Berks Catholic Saints. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Antietam of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Antietam's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Berks Catholic, their victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 4-9.

Antietam and Berks Catholic could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Mountaineers (ranked 520th) will meet Schuylkill Valley (ranked 96th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Berks Catholic will challenge Tulpehocken at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (411 vs. 139).
