Croatan has gone 9-1 against Dixon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Cougars will host the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m.

Croatan is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering West Carteret just ended the team's five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Patriots.

While Croatan ultimately came up short, they really made West Carteret work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 27-25, 20-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Dixon entered their tilt with Richlands on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since October 10, 2024.

Dixon wouldn't go down easily and took Richlands into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-14, 25-23, 24-26, 15-9.

Dixon's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Croatan, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.

Everything went Croatan's way against Dixon when the teams last played back in September, as Croatan made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
