Basketball Recap: Madelyn Kraus Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Triplains/Brewster

Western Plains won the last time they faced Triplains/Brewster and things went their way on Friday too. The Western Plains Bobcats enjoyed a cozy 42-25 win over the Triplains/Brewster Titans.

Western Plains got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Madelyn Kraus out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. Kraus is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Chloe Briand was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Western Plains' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Triplains/Brewster, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Western Plains Bobcats take on the Pawnee Heights Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western Plains is facing Pawnee Heights at the right time seeing as Pawnee Heights is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Triplains/Brewster, they will host Greeley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
