Basketball Game Preview: Eden Christian Academy vs. Ellwood City Wolverine

Eden Christian Academy will be taking part in a tournament against the Ellwood City Wolverine at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eden Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Eden Christian Academy turned things around against Leechburg on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Blue Devils as they made off with a 61-36 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Eden Christian Academy has posted since December 17, 2024.

Meanwhile, Ellwood City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a hard 61-44 fall against Mohawk Area. While losing is never fun, the Wolverine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 365th, while the Warriors are ranked 131st).

Despite the loss, Ellwood City saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaleb Servick went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points along with four blocks and three steals. Those four blocks gave Servick a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Kerr, who posted six points and seven rebounds.

Eden Christian Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. As for Ellwood City, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
