Baseball Recap: Raymond Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Raymond can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past the McComb Tigers 15-5. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 20-3 victory last Tuesday.

Brandon Hudson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Raymond is 4-2 when Hudson posts two or more runs, but 1-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ransom Johnson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Jorden Price was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Raymond's victory bumped their record up to 5-16. As for McComb, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Raymond has already played their next contest (against Crystal Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for McComb, they will host Hazlehurst at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
