Football Recap: Skowhegan Falls Short of Messalonskee in the Playoffs + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Skowhegan can now relate to. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Messalonskee Eagles on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 33-28 back in September.

When it comes to explaining why Skowhegan lost, don't look at Ayden Mulcahy. Despite the final result, he rushed for 269 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry.

Tatum Doucette had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 164 yards and one score while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 203 yards and four TDs for Messalonskee. What's more, Doucette racked up 142.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Skowhegan's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Messalonskee, their record is now 4-5.

Skowhegan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Messalonskee, they will square off against Cony on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
