Basketball Game Preview: South Western Mustangs vs. Red Lion Lions

South Western hasn't had much luck against Red Lion recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The South Western Mustangs will take on the Red Lion Lions at 7:00 p.m.

South Western is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Wednesday. They were outmatched by William Penn and fell 81-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mustangs have suffered against the Bearcats since January 28, 2020.

Meanwhile, Red Lion didn't have too much trouble with Spring Grove on Tuesday as they won 58-43. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Rockets are ranked 232nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Red Lion and bumps their season record up to 8-1. As for South Western, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

South Western came up short against Red Lion when the teams last played back in February of 2022, falling 55-50. Can South Western avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
