Volleyball Recap: Carroll Comes Up Short

After flying high against Stebbins on Wednesday, Carroll came back down to earth. The Patriots fell 3-1 to the Franklin Wildcats on Thursday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Carroll started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 26-24, 25-14, 25-15.

Grace Dooley paced Carroll's offense, picking up 12 kills. Dooley got some help from Gabbi Dooley and her 21 assists. Gabbi also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Meghan Maxwell, each putting up three.

Carroll now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Franklin, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Carroll didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Wayne on the 6th. Franklin has also already played their next matchup (against Middletown), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
