Soccer Recap: Greece Athena Comes Up Short

Greece Athena was the 2-0 winner over Rush-Henrietta when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royal Comets on Tuesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Greece Athena came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New York soccer rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while Rush-Henrietta are ranked 203rd).

Greece Athena's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Rush-Henrietta, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Looking ahead, Greece Athena will square off against Pittsford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rush-Henrietta, they are taking a road trip to square off against Victor at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rush-Henrietta are facing Victor at the right time seeing as Victor are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
