Basketball Recap: Livingston Academy Comes Up Short

Livingston Academy was the 55-43 winner over Stone Memorial when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Livingston Academy Wildcats took a 66-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stone Memorial Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while the Panthers are ranked 39th).

Cade Capps continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Stone Memorial, almost dropping a double-double on 36 points and nine boards. Capps' evening made it 22 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jack Cordell was another key player, going 6 for 10 en route to 17 points and six rebounds.

Livingston Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Stone Memorial, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-5.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Livingston Academy Wildcats face off against the DeKalb County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stone Memorial, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Cumberland County at 6:00 p.m. Stone Memorial is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.9 points per game this season.
