Volleyball Recap: Berkeley Takes a Loss

Berkeley lost against Lucy Beckham on September 11th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Stags lost 3-0 to the Bengals. The Stags have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Berkeley ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-19, 25-18.

Ava Baker paced Berkeley's offense, picking up eight kills. Baker got some help from Reagan Infinger and her ten assists. Joanna Villeponteaux controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Lucy Beckham can attribute much of their success to Olivia McGowan, who had 17 digs and two assists. That's the most digs McGowan has posted over her last seven matchups.

Berkeley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Lucy Beckham, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Berkeley has already played their next match (against Goose Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Lucy Beckham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Stratford on the 2nd.
