Soccer Game Preview: Sierra vs. Avenal

The Sierra Chieftains will start their season against the Avenal Buccaneers. Kickoff is scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Avenal is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Laton an 8-0 shutout on Monday.

Avenal now has a winning record of 2-1-1.

As for Sierra, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished 0-14.

Sierra suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Avenal in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Sierra avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
