Basketball Recap: Twin Springs Comes Up Short

Twin Springs lost against Central Wise back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Twin Springs Titans were dealt a 71-22 loss at the hands of the Central Wise Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Warriors are ranked 25th).

Central Wise's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emmah McAmis, who posted 27 points. The matchup was McAmis' 19th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Abbie Jordan, who put up 18 points.

Twin Springs dropped their record down to 6-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Central Wise, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twin Springs will face off against Cumberland Gap at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Central Wise, they will take on Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
