Softball Recap: Pathfinder RVT Gets the Win

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Pathfinder RVT and Commerce had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pioneers never let the Red Raiders get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Commerce's batters probably weren't too happy with Kendra Burke, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up zero walks).

On the hitting side, Bella Nompleggi was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Greenly Lagimoniere, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Pathfinder RVT's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Commerce, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Pathfinder RVT will face off against rival Putnam Vo-Tech at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in the Pioneers' favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Beavers have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Commerce is set to square off against their familiar foe Springfield Renaissance at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
