Baseball Game Preview: Concordia Lutheran Crusaders vs. Lutheran South Academy Pioneers

Concordia Lutheran has won three straight games at home, while Lutheran South Academy has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Concordia Lutheran Crusaders will welcome the Lutheran South Academy Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Concordia Lutheran 3.2, Lutheran South Academy 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Friday just wasn't the day for Concordia Lutheran's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memorial on Friday. The Crusaders' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Luke Douglas was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Concordia Lutheran saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Martinez, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That hit marked the first that Martinez got this season.

Meanwhile, Lutheran South Academy earned a 7-2 victory over Parkview Baptist on Saturday.

Lutheran South Academy is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 16-1-1 record this season. Concordia Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 8-2.
