Softball Recap: Rainier Beach Find Success

Rainier Beach took a 24-run defeat the last time they faced off against Cleveland, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Rainier Beach had just enough and edged out Cleveland 18-16. Considering the Vikings' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Jaeda McFarland was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Sema'J Duncan, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

As for Cleveland, they will head out on the road to square off against Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Franklin has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.75 runs per game on average), something Cleveland will no doubt try to take advantage of.
