Football Game Preview: Richfield Wildcats vs. Juab Wasps

The Richfield Wildcats will square off against the Juab Wasps at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richfield will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Richfield is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Cedar just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Reds. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (40), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Juab waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Falcons, posting a 39-10 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wasps, who have now won three matchups by 29 points or more so far this season.

Richfield better keep an eye on Jaden Heap. He was instrumental in Juab's win, picking up 94 receiving yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 73 yards and one TD.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Juab, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Payton Myers, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Juab's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Richfield, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.

Richfield beat Juab 24-13 in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Wasps have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
