Basketball Game Preview: Laramie Plainsmen vs. Sheridan Broncs

The Laramie Plainsmen will head out to challenge the Sheridan Broncs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Sheridan took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Laramie, who comes in off a win.

Laramie is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 63-50 win over Thunder Basin on Saturday.

Laramie can attribute much of their success to Samantha Mathews, who posted 15 points and seven steals. Mathews is becoming a predictor of Laramie's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 6-8 when she doesn't). Carson Milam was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Sheridan faced Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. Sheridan was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 51-50 to Central. The Broncs haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Laramie now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Sheridan, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Laramie was taken down by Sheridan 55-27 when the teams last played back in January. Can Laramie avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
