Basketball Recap: Knowledge Academies Gets the Win

Knowledge Academies had won four straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped up to 10-5 to make it five. They slipped by the Merrol Hyde Magnet Hawks 54-53. Knowledge Academies has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Merrol Hyde Magnet, too.

Knowledge Academies had a senior duo take command as Travis Campbell dropped a double-double with 25 points and 13 boards and Jameson Amos shot 62% from the field on his way to 20 points. The matchup was Campbell's 13th in a row with at least 16 points.

As for Merrol Hyde Magnet, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9. Hawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Knowledge Academies since Friday.

Merrol Hyde Magnet lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bennett Altepeter, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eliot Johnson, who posted 13 points and seven boards.
