Baseball Recap: Pickerington North Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Pickerington North kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Upper Arlington Golden Bears by a score of 5-4. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Pickerington North got a good showing from Keegan Reuscher, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the first time Reuscher hasn't allowed a single earned run since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Nic Markle was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jackson Turnbull was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Upper Arlington has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Pickerington North will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Olentangy Orange at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Upper Arlington, they are taking a road trip to square off against Dublin Scioto at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
