Basketball Preview: Southwest Wildcats vs. Norborne Pirates
Southwest is 8-2 against the Pirates since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Southwest Wildcats will be playing at home against the Norborne Pirates at 12:15 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Southwest is ranked 556th, while the Pirates are ranked 580th).
Last Wednesday, Southwest earned a 42-34 victory over the Bobcats. The win was just what Southwest needed coming off of a 61-34 loss in their prior game.
Southwest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grant Warren out in front who scored 19 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Hughes, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Norborne came up short against the Tigers last Saturday and fell 42-32.
Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Norborne, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
Southwest beat the Pirates 32-19 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Does Southwest have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
