Baseball Recap: Twin Lakes Snags Ninth Victory in Last 12 Games

Twin Lakes hadn't done well against Logansport recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Indians walked away with a 5-1 win over the Berries. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Josh Crowell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Twin Lakes saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Houchen, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Mason Brummett, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Twin Lakes has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Logansport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Twin Lakes will challenge Benton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Logansport, they will take on Northwestern at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
