The Sonora Broncos will square off against the Forsan Buffaloes at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Thursday, Sonora made easy work of Eldorado and carried off a 22-2 win. The Broncos have beaten the Eagles the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Stefani Trevino was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Liliana Gallegos was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Valerie DeLeon was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Sonora always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .675. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Forsan had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight last Tuesday. They blew past the Wildcats 11-1. That's two games straight that the Buffaloes have won by exactly ten runs.
Forsan pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sonora, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.
