High school basketball: Five-star Rutgers signee Ace Bailey goes off for 41 points and 26 rebounds in win for No. 22 McEachern

Five-star Rutgers signee Ace Bailey went off for 41 points, 26 rebounds and four assists Tuesday night, leading No. 22 McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.) to an 84-64 victory over Pebblebrook (Mableton, Ga.).

The impressive stat line continues a dominant senior campaign for Bailey, who recorded 31 points and 14 rebounds in an 81-65 victory over Kell (Marietta), 29 points in a 79-62 loss to No. 6 Grayson (Loganville) and 31 points and six rebounds in an 86-59 loss to No. 9 Columbus (Miami, Fla.). The 6-foot-8 wing is regarded as the No. 3 overall prospect in the Class of 2024 and signed with Rutgers on Nov. 11.

Bailey earned first team MaxPreps Junior All-America honors after averaging 22 points, 14 rebounds, four blocks and three assists per contest to guide the Indians to the Class AAAAAAA state quarterfinals. This year he has upped his averages to 30.2 points, 13.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 4.0 blocks per outing through six games.

McEachern (4-2) returns to the court Friday for a contest at Marietta before traveling to the City of Palms Classic for an opening round showdown against No. 4 Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.) on Dec. 18.
