Basketball Recap: North Penn Comes Up Short

If North Penn was riding high fresh off their 72-52 takedown of Central Bucks East last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The North Penn Knights took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bensalem Fighting Owls. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 52-47 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Amir Drummond was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and five assists for Bensalem. The matchup was Drummond's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aidan Mayfield, who posted ten points.

North Penn has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Bensalem, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.

North Penn will face off against William Tennent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bensalem, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-38 loss against Wissahickon on the 11th.
